This Privacy Policy explains how Shain (“we”, “us”, or “the App”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our AI-powered photo generation application. By using Shain, you agree to the practices described below.
You may upload photos that may include a human face (“User Content”) in order to generate AI images and videos explicitly requested by you.
Face Data Handling: Shain processes face-related visual information only temporarily to generate the requested AI output. Face data is not shared with third parties, not stored permanently, not associated with a user’s identity, and not used for identification, profiling, analytics, advertising, or AI model training.
Shain does not collect, extract, store, or process biometric identifiers, facial recognition templates, or face embeddings. We do not identify, verify, or track users based on facial features.
We may collect limited non-personal technical information such as device type, operating system version, app version, and anonymized usage data solely to improve app stability and performance.
All purchases and subscriptions are processed exclusively through the Apple App Store. We do not access or store your full payment or billing details.
We may collect anonymized analytics and crash reports to diagnose technical issues and improve user experience. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.

User photos are not used for identity verification, user profiling, advertising purposes, or training AI models.
Uploaded images are transmitted securely and processed only to generate the AI output explicitly requested by the user. Processing may occur on secure servers operated by trusted infrastructure providers acting strictly on our behalf.
Any third-party infrastructure providers act solely as data processors under our instructions. They do not have independent access to face data and are contractually prohibited from storing, sharing, or using such data for any other purpose.
Input photos: Photos you upload as input for a generation are used only for that specific generation. They are processed in memory on our servers, are not saved to our databases or long-term storage, and transient processing copies are automatically purged from processing systems after the generation completes.
Generated content: The AI images and videos you create are saved to your in-app library so that you can view, download, and share your own creations. Each item is stored under a unique, unguessable link so that it can be displayed in the app and shared by you; it is not listed, indexed, or browsable by other users. This content is retained until you delete it or request its deletion (see Section 6). Deletion requests are fulfilled within 30 days.
We do not build or retain any database of faces: no biometric identifiers, facial recognition templates, or face embeddings are ever created or stored.
Face data is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties. Any limited access by infrastructure providers is strictly for transient processing and does not constitute independent data sharing.

Shain is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
We apply industry-standard security measures to protect user data. While no system is completely secure, we continuously work to safeguard your information.
The App may rely on third-party infrastructure services for hosting, analytics, and AI processing. These providers process data only according to our instructions and applicable agreements.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
